So Im hearing about a machine gun barrel you can obtain for a mosin nagant that will give you a heavy barrel...I forget which one it is, for now it eludes me...anyway, is there anyone here that has done one and knows where i can obtain the barrel, and or if it is even worth finding one, or is it better to just get a barrel blank, and chamber it in 30-06 or 308?

Chambering a barrel blank in either of those will not be the only thing needing to be done. You'd have to convert from rimmed to rimless extraction and change the mag follower too.
A .30-06 will be too long for the mag as well. .308 will fit though. Mind you, the .308 runs at higher pressures, so it might damage the receiver and you. Likely best to re-think the whole idea.
You can eat the buttons off a CF Extreme Cold Weather Parka. Tastes like McPuke's plastic flavoured chicken. snicker.

Ive never heard of this before, but if its possible to do it seems like an excellent way to make a $150.00 rifle into a $1000.00 rifle, that will be only be worth a $100.00 when your done. I'd just enjoy it as is and leave it be.
I have 308 target rifle barrels that are medium heavy and 26" to 28". They are $100 each. If you run a 7.62x54R reamer into it, you will have a rifle that will shoot milsurp and handloads with 308 bullets.

Mystic Precision can get Mcgrowen which makes a precision HBAR Mosin barrel, but they are far from cheap.

I remember seeing an article where a gunsmith?? rebarreled his customer's Mosin Nagant into a 338 LAPUA {NO! SINGLE SHOT}.
Wondering what happened to either as there hasn't been any follow up article.

Just checked out a couple Mosins in the rack no major work needed to get a 303 British to feed out of the magazine. At most 1/16" metal removal each side of feed rail and a bit of polishing would have it working fine.
