LATE 1800'S HEAVY LEAD HARRIS METAL CO. TORONTO CANADA ADVERTISING PAPERWEIGHT 4.2 LBS

THE HARRIS METAL COMPANY OF CANADA STARTED IN THE SCRAP METAL BUISNESS IN 1886 SAME YEAR AS COCA COLA STARTED AND HARRIS STEEL CONTINUED ON TO BECOME CANADA'S 5TH LARGEST STEEL COMPANY. THIS HEAVY PAPERWEIGHT WEIGHS 4.2 LBS AND SEEMS TO BE MADE OF LEAD OR HEAVY IRON. IT MEASURES 4" IN DIAMETER X 1.25" THICK

based on some drunk calculations and using the same 6" calipers in the picture, is the size of those "coins" about 4.6"??

edit: lol, just saw what it said in one of your paper clippings... figures.

I found one of their square bars in a garage sale here recently. Says #3 alloy on the back. It is hard so I am assuming babbit. I only have small babbit scrapers in my collection.

My source was telling me the company he worked for scrapped hundreds of them before they closed down a few years ago.....he rescued some thinking he might find a use for them some day.....now he is moving and wants to get rid of them
