Heckler & Koch MR308A3

I'm not doubting their a quality built rifle, but how good was the accuracy; sub MOA?

Cheers D

I have achieved that with my MR308 first version. So I can imagine depending on the scope and the setup you are going for and ammo you shoot under 1moa easy. Tactical imports has had one listed on the EE for ages. But it's setup for a battle rifle config. Also they have a 20 barrel as well.

The price dropped to $3999 from $4799. Nice gun but hard to find parts for it if needed. Good reason to stick with an AR.

Ah. The parts are easy to get. I have had no problems either sourcing from the US or Europe. That's an old argument. If this were 3 years ago I would agree. Plus hk lasts a long time. With companies like Irunguns or Phil river for importing it is simple and not really that expensive compared to the old days. And even then it wasn't hard it was just most dealers were lazy and charge ridiculous fees to do it.

Head over to hk pro and there are tones of websites in Europe and the US to get everything you need and in realitively fast order.

The price will be raised next week..

Mr223 are available and parts are easier to come by, its the same gun as 416. Yes there are differences that gear it more for strengths in other areas and it is closer to an M27 IAR version the USMC choose. Its a winner.

Sorry bud, but there isn't a single upper on this earth worth $9,000, no matter what you may believe. It offers absolutely ZERO mechanical, durability or accuracy advantage(s) over any other of the big players out there, let alone in the 5.56 platform.

It must %$@ to have so much money sunk'd into it, but in the end it is your money to do as you wish with it!

I have one. 20" barrel. It will be passed down to my children.

Using Fed Gold 175 it shoots 5rds, ragged hole at 100m.

I suspect it would do better if it was bolted to a table using a trigger remote.

It's a collectors item.

I'm reframing from posting anymore inregards too EE ads for It could be Conskewed as advertising on my part.

The HK 416/417 line is king or Emperor in all honesty and truthfulness. It just depends on cost if whatever leo/Mil agencies can afford it or have the need to run it to its full potential. It offers major advantages to a trained operator that others do not in my humble opinion.

Truth is:

Everybody wants one, but not everyone needs one.

The overall Reality is ........that for the 99% percent of civilian or Law Enforcement requirements it goes beyond the need or want, and is made for the best primarily above all others. The true SF user is what it is made and intended for, not the tier 2 or 3 user.

"Just go out and get one "
