Heeled shotgun slug

I got to thinking over the weekend (it happens every once in a while ) - would it be possible to used a heeled slug with a brass shotgun shell? I know the OAL wouldn't allow it to feed from a mag, only a single shot. Using a 12g or 16g, you'd end up with something looking like a 577 Snider on steroids. Would this be possible, or would the forcing cone/barrel diameter be reduced enough so that a projectile that size wouldn't fit?
Any thoughts?

The chamber of the shotgun is much wider than the bore. Look down the barrel and you'll see what I mean.

Unless it was overbored, basically eliminating the forcing cone.

i load brass shells for the 12 gauge with both smokeless and black powder, I use a 12 gauge round ball and yes it looks like a 700 Nitro or some such.
