Height above bore of front sight of SMLE Nº4
I'm refubishing an already-sporterized Nº4 which is missing the original front sight. I plan to cut the barrel back an inch or so and install a new FS. Anyone know the height above bore of the top of the original front sight? I know the exact height depends on the insert but I just need to be able to figure out which ramp and sight height to use. (Not sure what I'll do about the rear sight yet; it still has the micrometer sight; may fit a Williams 5D.)
