Height of Ithaca (ERMA) 72 Saddle Gun front sight?

Mine has a missing front sight. Anyone out there with one of these with a caliper who could measure the height for me so I can replace it? OA measurement from bottom of the barrel band to to of the sight is OK; I canfigure it out from there.

I have an Ithaca 72 saddle gun. I don't have a caliper but I know someone who does so I'll ask him next time I see him if I can borrow it. Your asking for the hight of the bead or the hood? Anyways I'll measure every thing then send it to you once I get my paws on the caliper.

Thanks, CK! I just need the measurement to the top of the sight as I don't use the hood.

I ask my friend and apparently his caliper is AWOL hasn't seen it for almost 2 years. This means I can't get the exact dimensions of the front sight at this time. I do know a few other people who might have one so I'll see if one of them will let me borrow it for a few minutes so I can measure the front sight. I don't know how long it will take to find one that is home and will let me use it as most of them have young kids and spend long periods of time out of town.

Sorry to put you to all this trouble Actually, even if you were to measure from the bottom of the dovetail to the top of the sight with a ruler (with 1/32" graduations) that would probably be close enough. I may be able to work it out by disassembling the gun and measuring the height of the rear sight from (in the middle position) the centre of the bore.

No problem at all after all you only asked where as I offered to put time in to finding out what you needed. I'll find my little ruler and let you know ASAP. Now where did I put that ruler...(looks in the direction of the SCARY DRAWER)...I'll get back to you in 24-48 hours with what you need. Sorry for the delay.
