Helice

I shot in in 1992 NS few times afterward in the US. It is like live pigeon shooting without the pigeons. Here is a link:

I have done some inquiring with eurostarget to see what the price is of their Easy bird launcher. Id like to have one. Would be expensive but Im sure some of our club would want to shoot from time to time and at least pay for the launcher.

Skeet is supposed to be like shooting ruff grouse, these do a pretty good job though.

jimmy, you have a launcher?

Nope but I have a target they are pretty neat they curl back like a boomerang can’t shoot them on the way back though :(.

A couple buds and myself talked about setting up a ring on privet property and having a once a year shoot run like a pigeon shoot. It’s not a dead dream but sort of on hold, never got past the idea.

There is an association in the states with a web site, clubs phone numbers a call to them would have most answers about costs targets, machines answered. For a club room for it vs the cost might be a big factor it’s not hi volume shooting so cost is relavent to a day on the skeet, trap, sporting clays fields

The Helice Association never did answer my email request about directing me to someone who might be interested in bringing a machine and doing a helice shoot in Canada. I recall that the cost of the targets is in excess of $1 USD each and the cost of buying a machine was something like $20,000. Crossed it off my "to-do" list rather quickly.

I looked into this about 5 years ago and I cant remember if i ever got firm options on delivery to canada, but looking back at my emails i think a set of machines ran about $20,000 but i just wanted one machine to add to our 5 stand, and if i remember i could get a 35 bird single stack type machine for about $5000, problem was i could not find a source for targets under $1/target. I also found where i was emailing injection molding places to get some made in canada, that made the targets much cheaper, but was $10,000-$30,000 to get someone to set up the molds.
