Some may already reconize my name and think "Sh*t its him back again" but no, no, not here to cause problems or another 20 page debate. Althougth that was very informative !

For those whom are not familiar with the little stir up something I created generated a bit of a stir up on the forums a couple months ago.

I run an anti gun Crime petition. Where areas some people got the wrong impression on the petitions true sense/meaning. Those curious, you are free to check www.stoptheguns.ca

Anyways Onward.

Ive recently passed my Fire arm safety certification (Flying colours I might add) And just wanted to make a formal introduction (again) and note Im going to be asking a lot of questions lol

Hey Armada, welcome back... I guess. I wasn't around for you previous debate...

In regards to your petition, not sure if would make any difference to over all crime and may have the some unseen results ( not sure but I think that death penalty states have just as much violent crime as non- death penalty ones, and you can't get much more deterrence than that).

You should change it to include all violent crime regardless if it involves a firearm or not. Recent events here in Calgary 5 random stabbings in one night with 2 deaths, as well as Saskatoon and Regina holding the dubious titles of murder capital of North America ( back in the 80's ) almost all knife related.

In closing crime and violent crime have more to do with poverty and education then about guns and their availability.

Safety course for Non restricted and Restricted fire arms, to apply for PAL

And to whomever Grant is on this forum, please stop e-mailing me your garbage, I dont want to ban guns one bit, I want to own them myself :-/

I will bid you welcome, although cautiously, as life has taught me to be cynical and to a degree, paranoid. :(
I'm glad you did well on your tests, hope the application process goes smoothly and that you acquire a fine collection, and with it the appreciation that goes with collecting and shooting firearms.
Good luck. :)

This would be SOOOoo much easier if you said.

STOP THE CRIMINALS!!

My gun never seems to start anything on their own. Do you think they are defecitve??

I agree 100% with Storms comments. If you really wanted to go after criminals and not guns. Why are you not heading up an anti violent crime brigade?

I can only agree, and I know you will probally remember this whole thing from 2-3 months ago as well.

I gotta admit firstly, after taking the course(s) noticing how much the media does twist wording to suit a more sinister perspective towards fire arms. This has annoyed me in the past with my site and petition on what and how to report these items accurately and without general intent towards a media side.

It has been a true effort to try and filter much of the articles I have posted on my site to reflect the true problem, and not to target those whom are responsible with there equipment.

To respond to your desires to be cautious of my presence, well I look at this one way, only time will show my true intentions and those who question me, well look at my posts. I want what most of you want from what I have gathered, responsibility and caution when utilizing such tools.

On a further note relating to caution. Being fire arm owners I fully under stand the annoyance of people, usually mis informed on simply saying "ban all guns" well to say the least, I have much of this community very well hostile towards myself without even fully inquiring what im about or asking.

Making an introduction post and being welcomed with an E-mail from a forum member along the lines of

Its well, not something I like to be waking up to reading as I drink my morning java, and above all, it does not make me want to associate with such negativity. After all isint target sporting and hunting suppose to be enjoyable recreational activities?

LOL~

It is supposed to be a recreational and enjoyable activity...

And that has played into our downfall. We were content to be left alone with our sport. Meanwhile the forces of darkness arrayed themselves against us.

When they finally came out in open warfare against us.........were were unprepared.
This is why the media and the left have taken the high ground.

This is why we simply cannot afford to let anything that goes against us unchallenged.

Sadly..........some of us lack the vocabulary to properly express these thoughts and are reduced to vulgarity. So much more the pitty.

All I can say to the above (refering to the p.m.'s you've received), Armada, is to have patience as well.
Every group has it's share of inbred, slack-jawed mouth breathers.
We are no different, and these individuals do not help our cause.

No offense, but if you want credibility, you should go through your web page and fix the spelling and other errors. Start with fire arm. It's one word, not two.
"...posession..." Incorrect spelling. It's possession.
"...The Young offenders act..." The Young Offender's Act is gone and has been for several years now. It was replaced with the same kind of idiocy and is now called The Youth Criminal Justice Act.
"...A Minimum of 10 years Imprisonment for anyone caught in posession of a fire arm without proper licensing or illegal firearm..." You should get a copy of the Firearms Act and read it.
"...boarders..." That's a guy who rents a room. You mean 'borders'.
"...Canadas..." Think proper punctuation too. It's spelt Canada's.
And after all is said and done, nobody pays the least bit of attention to on-line petitions.

I cautiously welcome you as well

I agree, I would be cautious as well.

I had never heard of your group before and I went to check out your web sight. Call me paranoid as well and I hope that I am wrong, but I get the impression that you are here just to increase the number of signatures on your petition. Personally, will not sign your petition, and I agree with SUNRAY, online petitions do not work anyway.

None the less, I will bid you a cautious welcome and assume that your intentions are honest and that pulling the wool over our eyes is not your true intention.

My usual response, more or less, is:

“Welcome to CGN and I hope you enjoy your stay with us. You will find many knowledgeable people here that will be more that ready to answer any of your questions.”

Good luck
Robert

I was wondering what became of you.
It was only a couple of days ago i was thinking of that huge ruckus that erupted here several months ago.
Congrats on passing the test.
