I was referred here by a friend and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm very very new to shooting, but I enjoy it very much. In fact I have always enjoyed all forms of target shooting. Archey, pellet guns, etc.

After I get my PAL I would like to get either a pistol or rifle, can't decide yet. If I got a rifle it would likely be a 10/22 because it seems to be a good starter gun, and it's what my friend has. If I got a pistol, not sure. Maybe a S&W 22. Either way I think I would like to start with a rimfire .22 pistol/rifle and then go from there. Once I get access to the exchange section, I'll see if anyone is selling anything interesting in/around Calgary.

Welcome. Your plan to start with .22s is a good one. You might try to pick up a rifle and a handgun at the same time. Shooting them is so different that they'd give you plenty to work on as you learn them. If you get used guns from the Equipment Exchange, try to make sure they're guns someone has taken care of. You'll have to contact a Moderator to admit you to the Exchange. Anyway, you're at an exciting point in your life. Have fun with it.
