Hi all, I found this site about 2 weeks ago while surfing the net for a Mauser 98. I love this site. I'm happier than a pig in.......... well you know what. It's nice to find a Canadian dedicated site, and with great members. I'll be spreading the news to all my hunting and shooting friends. I spend a lot time on the computer and am surprised I never came across this site before.

As the title says, I'm a bit of a Mauser fan. My main hunting rifle is a .270 built up from a Mauser 98 action. I'm currently re-stocking her. I have 4 other bare Mauser 98 actions, of which 2 are being used to build a .270 for my son and a .338 for myself. I've been shooting for about 20 years now and hope to start a collection of Mausers soon.

A big shout out to the Abbotsford, BC members.

Good luck with the Mausers. A nice representative Mauser is still easily found and affordable too :) (except for original condition German K98k's).

I suggest you look ath the Yugo, Swedish and South American offerings as a starting point :) Especially the Swedes.

EDIT: Before someone "Schmidt-Rubins" me by asking what war the Swedish Mauser fought in, go read up on the Finland/Russia Winter War. Many Swede Mausers were provide dto the Finns and fought in that conflict alongside Carcanos and Mosins. By all accounts they gave examplary service :)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I don't know what it is about a Mauser, but once you've tasted her, there's no going back. Thanks for the advice Claven2.

Thanks Nexice and everyone. Looks like a few members from the Fraser Valley. Should organize a Sat. or Sun. morning meet for coffee in the Wack or Abby at a local Timmy Ho's.
