Hello from Arthur Ontario new gun owner 22lr - interested in sks for range shooting

I am a recent owner of a Remington Model 12 pump action 22. Great for unwanted pests and shooting cans and plastic bottles(filled with water).
I would like to get into factory f class shooting and vintage\sporting. I am thinking about getting an sks as a starter range rifle( I like the looks and the price). I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Everyone should have an SKS.
Inexpensive to buy and shoot.

My first rifle was an SKS as well. Several vendors on this board have them at VERY affordable prices. The ammo is cheap as well.

SKS won't work for long distance (F-class type) shooting though.
