Having not fired a rifle for 60 years, I was recently given a present of going to a shooting range form my girlfriend's son. Upon arriving at the range we had to get over the shock of hearing ( and feeling) a 6.5 Creedmore being fired 3 feet away !
We fired a 22 Henry and a 30-06 and we had a lot of fun. So now I plan to take the safety course and get a PAL. i Have posted a separate thread in another section asking for advice on preparing for the course.

Right on and welcome.
That creedmoor probably had a muzzle brake. They can be brutal. I wear ear plugs and ear muffs to combat those shooters next to me and still sometimes jump when I'm not expecting it.
A guy beside me had a brake on a 30-06 last week and I almost had to change my shorts. All good though. Cheers
