Hey everyone.
My name is Allan, I'm 35 and am from Calgary.

I joined the site to get a little more info, as I would like to get back into shooting, after about a 20 yr break.

I'm just looking to pickup a few guns and shoot for the hell of it.

I still have to take the FAL course and get squared away, but I figure winter is a good time while my main hobby....the car...is away till the snow melts.

Anyways, I look forward to being a part of the community.

Welcome to the forum. Getting back into the shooting sports is a great idea. Good luck with the safety coarse.

Hello everyone ... I too am in Calgary.

I was briefly in the Canadian Reserves in the early 1980s. I was a member of the "Canadian Grenadier Guards", you know the guys who wear the funny hats in Ottawa except I wasn't one of the ceremonial soldiers. I was assigned to the combat side of the regiment. Anyway I have some exposure to firearms thanks to this old military experience. But it has been a long long time, so I must dawn my newbie hat again and come up to speed with the modern rules, regulations and hardware in the sport.
 
Being a Calgarian myself, I try to welcome each new Gunnut from our fine city. May you learn from this library as much as I - and good luck getting your PAL. Where are you planning on taking the course?

I still have not 'pulled the trigger' so to speak.....

I was considering doing a 1-stop-shop 'deal' with a 1yr Range Pass and Certification Courses through someone like, Shooter's Edge ?

Anyone from Calgary care to comment ?
