Hi Guys,
I am an avid shooter from Denver Colorado. I am a 3-gun shooter and like long range shooting. I was introduced to this sight through a friend of Jered Joplin at Patriot Arms. It looks to be a very neat sight with lots of information.

Great to see members from south of the 49th. It's nice to get their perspective. We have to live vicariously through you guys because of our crazy gun laws. Hope you find this site helpful, and welcome.

Thanks guys, I've been poking around the sight and I didn't realize that the gun laws were so horrific in Canada. I hope we can retain the rights we have left. Here in Colorado we have a newly elected democrat governor who feels that California is a roll model state for gun laws. We're all afraid of what that may lead to.

south of border news

Hi "down there".....glad to see you're using our Canuck site........one real good example of how the California laws have affected them (even to a degree worse than Cdn law) is that now some manufacturers are reluctant to even sell their firearms in California.....the best example--I believe STI will not sell any more to California

I'm know since california outlawed the 50 bmg Barrett will not service or sell anything to law enforcement or government agencies in california. He has developed a couple other rounds similar to the 50 bmg to get by the ban. It's nice to see a manufacturer respond in that way to a liberal state government. Not to change the subject, I have some optics I would like to sell and I'm not sure how to go about it, any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to CGN!

Alas, due to current regs. (actually courtesy of your BATF or State Dept., not Canadian!) Canadian residents cannot buy scopes from the US without the seller having an Export Permit. AFAIK, used optics are included, although I believe binocs and iron sights are exempt from this. There have been several threads on CGN on this sad business, which you can find in the "Legalese" forum. If you have scopes to sell, you'll only be able to sell 'em to other US members on CGN.

The export regs. are pretty odd. I bought a Williams peep sight and some generic front sights from Brownell's, but a length of Weaver rail (so I could make my own base) was deleted from the order because it contravened ATF regs. Go figure.

Others on the board will no doubt chip in with more specific advice and experience. :(

:) Stuart
