Hello From Firearms Newbie

Hello Everyone,
My name is Tom "edit" and I hail from the Sarnia Ontario area.I became disabled a couple years ago and decided that while I was still kicking I wanted to follow an old dream.That was to own and use firearms.I never new I could even get a restricted license. I really enjoy working with my small gun collection and belonging to the local gunclub "Lambton Sportsman Assoc." The folks in the club have been fantastic to my wife and I.Heck who knew gunowners were such nice folks Well I hope for now to learn a lot about my newfound hobby by belonging to this great group.You all came highly recommended.Maybe there is a cowboy hat in my future.

In any case, welcome to the fraternity.
Shooting is a sport that those of all ages and physical condition can participate in or compete in some manner, often in the same event.
For example, I've been at it for 55 or 56 years and now have some heart problems, I have to keep in the back of my mind. I still have fun target shooting, participating in CAS (Cowboy Action Shooting) and the friends I have made over the years in the shooting disciplines, make sure I don't overdo it when we go on hunting trips.
All in all, a pretty unselfish bunch in this sport.
I think you'll enjoy heck out of it for a long time to come.

Welcome Onion. Yes people in the shooting sports are great and always make a point of helping newcomers even in competitive shooting. Also where else can you spend 000's of dollars sight unseen for items and find that people are 10 times more honorable in describing stuff than a lot of people you deal with in person.
