Hey guys, im 19 and definatly classified as a newbie seeing as none of my friends or family shoots. I do own a .22 and a 12 gauge that i bought last year but neither have gotten much use simply because I have no where to shoot. I was wondering if any of the more experienced members could let me in on any good places to shoot and especially hunt around the Hamilton area? Also, I have yet to get my hunting licence so im looking for somewhere close where I could get that as well.

Thanks in advance!
Mike

Welcome Klue to a great site. You will get lots of info and encouragement here. Sorry I cant help you with info on the Hamilton area I'm in the white north but I'm sure someone will help out.

Hamilton Angling & Hunting Association

Check out the Hamilton Angling & Hunting Association. They have a 100 yard rifle range, 25 yard pistol range, archery range, trap shooting, and skeet shooting. They also offer training & licensing courses to both members and non-members.

Also travel a little further and there is the Waterdown Trap club. It only trap, archery and air rifle but they are a great bunch of guys.

"...none of my friends or family shoots..." Hi, Klue. Me too, long ago. Well, still. Ignored the rest of the world, figured out how to do it and did it. Mind you, life was simpler when I was 19. No PAL, etc.
Assuming you have wheels(not having wheels complicates things), go talk(call 'em if wheels is an issue. Excrement has a way of happening. Three new members, you, your buddy and 'the guy' very likely won't be ignored. assuming you guys are persistent) to the guys in Burlington or the Hamilton Angling & Hunting Association. Get shooting first. Do the Hunter's Safety Course and hunting invites will follow. Finding a place to hunt isn't easy for the most seasoned shooter. You have to know people. Being a shooting club member gets you invited. Trust me.
Contacting 'the guy' and helping each other wouldn't be a bad idea either. Shooters do that too.
The absolute worst case scenario is that a particular club is full. There's more than one club. I suspect mention this forum might, I say again, might help.
