hi all.

i live in kamloops bc i'm 29 years old and i've been shooting for most of my life. i've been working (slowly) on my own collection for the past few years, and i am now sitting with a little semi auto .22, a norinco m14, and 2 sks-d's. i was refered to this site by the guys in the lever arms store in vancouver while trying to track down some ammo for the m14 and the sks's. they didn't have any for either :( oh well. hopefully just a temporary dry spell.

Hey.. What part of Kamloops are you in. My parents live in Dufferin, I used to live up there until I moved to Edmonton

:welcome: you've joined a great site, lot's of info and great people. Did you make it to the show last weekend, Kamloops finally beat Calgary as the largest show in Western Canada. Have you joined Canadian shooting Sports yet, if not, click on their icon on the top of the page, you can sign up online. The next election is the most critical, our sport will live or die on who gets in. Join CSSA today, we need them and the CSSA needs the membership and support.

Welcome to the forum , Dave. Did you check out the gunshow last weekend? I got stiffed with yard work, and had to listen to a barrage of " Well, you do have a lot of guns already......"

LOL. Cheers Jim

dr.gonzo I'm from Kamloops BC too what do you think of the new Wholesale on Nortredame sadly I missed the Gun and antique show on the weekend me annoyed about that. Anyways nice know people from this little strip of outdoor heaven are members here.

wow, lotsa people from the loops. right on! i actually missed the show this year. i would have been there for sure, but i finally took my wife on our honeymoon in mexico. sucks to have missed the show, but the pina coladas helped me forget about it.

sounds cool. not sure if my work schedual will allow me to make my way out there, but i'll keep my eyes open.

no, i'm not yet a member of any local gun clubs. but maybe one day.

its pretty sweet that we have a store like wholesale sports, but i was kinda spoiled this past christmas when the family and i made a stop at cabela's down in idaho :) kinda hard to compare any other gun store once you've been in cabela's. i just read a post about one opening up in manitoba, so i guess we can shop online now.

you should consider joining the Kamloops Fish & Game Association. they're the one's that setup that range up in Bachelor Hills...and they also have a couple cabins you get access to to hunt from! it costs more, granted, but the KTSA (Kamloops Target & Sports Association) supposedly has an awesome outdoor range...I'm considering membership once I have my PAL/RPAL. ;)

where is the ktsa range? i've heard of one out in heffley creek... is that it? i just recently found the one in bach. before that my friends and i would just find a spot out in the bush. i never went for the rpal, so i've never had to join a club.

ktsa has two outdoor ranges up in aberdeen by the weight scales. they also have an indoor range downtown by the curling rink.

the indoor range is for handguns and 22 rifles, check the ktsa website for more details on what happens on what days.

the outdoor range has a short range (upto 50m) and has a seperate long range with target stands at 25m, 50m, 100m, 200m, 300m, and 400m, and spots marked out to 500m.

they even installed a nice wood stove at the long range.

its a nice bunch of guys that goto the range, Ive never met anything but friendly faces no matter what range I goto :)

and to help with what updatelee has shared, the website is www.ktsa.ca :)

the range you know about out at Heffley belongs to the Heffley Creek Gun Club.

does anyone know if the KTSA, the KFGA or the HCGC belong to any of the larger associations in Canada?

If you want ammo for the M14 or the SKS's PM DelSelins, he's a gunshop in Vernon, and usually has as good a supply as anyone.
