Hello from London

Hi everyone

New to the forum, and would like to introduce myself. I live in London ON, and currently belong to the St. Thomas Gun Club, which is primarily Trap and Skeet. I have recently written and passed my restricted, so I will soon be joining East Elgin Club to facilitate my growing anticipation of firing handgun on a regular basis. I currently serve in the Canadian Forces (Reserve), So I have a fair amount of experience with the handling and operation of military firearms.

When I recieved my Non-Restricted last year, I was dismayed to find out that we as Canadians are no longer permitted to own operational FNC1's. I (along with many other Canadian servicemen, I'm sure) found a real friend in the old FN. That is, I could hit anything at almost any range with it. I have fired AR's AK's Steyers and many others, but in my opinion, nothing can compare. I think most of us were very sad to see it replaced with the C7. The C7 has it's merits (doesn't weigh you down like a sandbag full of bricks, for instance) but the FN was the best in it's class, and I miss it. I think it is a crime that we as Law-Abiding Canadian Citizens cannot possess one legally.

Ok. I've had my rant. It's gone and there's nothing for it but fond memories. At any rate, Looking forward to a long association with CGN, love the forums and boards, hope to chat with you all in the future.

Thanks again.

Ive herd so many great things about the FN. Lotsa old timers in the forces talk about it :D Really wish I could have had the opprotunity to shoot it? No luck though. Who knows maybe one day our gun laws will change and I will have my chance. Anyways welcome to CGN :canadaFlag:
