Hi there
I'm pretty new. I have a little experience with air rifles but that just made me want to learn to use real guns. Currently prepping to get my PAL and then looking at something basic like a one shot rifle to start out.
Already enjoying the wealth of information available on this site to help me take those next steps.
Glad to be here.

Welcome. Single shot bolt action .22's are the way to go for newbs. Then you can progress to bigger better things. It is not necessary, but the best way to learn.

Nice to have you with us! I love northern Ontario, and if circumstances allow, I'll be moving up there at some point. Get a good teacher, learn the basics of breath and trigger control, sight picture, and target acquisition. As time goes on, you'll graduate to bigger and better equipment. Try as many firearms as circumstances allow, and determine what best suits your needs, either for sport or practicality, or both. Lots of luck to you.

Welcome. We're in Petawawa and frequently take out new shooters to try different things and gain experience.

You'll love shooting and .22 is cheap.

Hi. Definitely a .22, but not necessarily a single shot. A magazine fed, bolt action will be more versatile in the long run. A Savage Mk II, for example.
