I`m new to this forum so I just wished to say hello.:)
Living in southern Norway, We have pretty strict gunlaws but that doesn`t effect the lust to learn more about guns so I`we joined a few forums lately.

Welcome to our small but rapidly growing community. Perhaps once we win a few battles here, we can export what we've learned to help other countries.:D

God dag drittsekk - jeg er i Trondheim, hvor bor du? Det er ikke strengt her i Norge, men det er noe jævelig idiotisk ting, ja. Skyter du mye, eller?

For a bottle of Linie Aquavit there's at least one instructor who will do your licence testing for free!! Not that I have a problem or anything...

How strict are Norway's gun laws?

Are you allowed to own guns to hunt wild game?......... target shoot?

Can you own handguns?

Do you have a firearm registration & owner licensing system?

How about shooting clubs?

Depends on what you are comparing them to. But for the most part they aren't THAT draconian.

yes and yes
Can you own handguns?
yes any damn thing under the sun. Except the Taurus Judge:rolleyes:

Yep. One license per firearm. And only one firearm per caliber - and only allowed to buy ammunition for the caliber of firearm you own.

How about shooting clubs?

Tons of them, but most cater to hunters or target shooters. There are gun ranges all over the damn place, both military and civie. But only a handful of pistol ranges in comparison.

Summary:
I welcomed him to the sight, called him a ####bag, said that I thought the laws weren't too bad here, and asked him if he shoots alot.

Hey great to here from you. My wifes grandmother on her mothers side was from Norway..I think it was ANNISEN or ANNISON ...something like that. She passed away 50 years ago. Needless to say everyone of the grand daughters are almost 6 feet tall.

What's the moose hunting like ??? Always wanted to visit Norway...

We are allowed to have rifles /shotguns for hunting and targetshooting. And we can own handguns if we are aktitve members of a pistolclub... The only way to own AKs ARs and other "militarylooking Weapons" in semi of course is to join a club with "practical shooting program" We have a registration and licensing program and it's getting stricter every year in my opinion:) What the other member from Norway was writing to me was a Welcome and a question about where in Norway I live..... To answer that I live in the south...... BTW Thank you all for welcoming me to CGN
