Hello from Ottawa to all you other gun nutz!

CGN frequent flyer
I have been looking for a good gun forum for us Canadians and was very pleased to come across this one, seems like alot of like minded individuals on here. About me, originally from the West, born in BC, grew up many years in Alberta, finally moved out to Ottawa 8 years ago. I grew up shooting rifles but as an adult never purchased any of my own firearms so finally last year I went and got my PAL, just started my collection, bought a Remington 870 Express 18inch barrel (turning it into a tactical shotgun) and a Ruger 10/22 carbine. Have my eye set on many, many different guns. M14 and SKS (when Marstar gets them back in stock) are next in line but I really want to get into long distance shooting so I will be investing in a rifle soon (thinking of the Remington 700 SPS varmint in 308, swapping out the stock for a McMillianetc. etc. ). I am looking at some ranges in my area so if there are any members from this area with recommendations......

Anyways glad to have found a home to discuss my very expensive hobby! lol:rolleyes:

welcome to the site, if you find the ontario club to busy ,you can come and shoot with us on the other side of the river.

:welcome: Great to have you back in the sport. one thing is missing, you haven't listed all the handguns you'll be acquiring!!!!, keep us up to date. Also, if you're not already a member, click on the Canadian Shooting Sports icon at the top of the page, you can sign up online. with all the crap the Ontario CFO is throwing around these days we need all the members and support we can get.

I am really thinking about it how are the laws for hunting there compared with Ontario? Lots of nice wilderness in Quebec must be some great hunting!

Hahaha ya handguns are definately something I will start to collect as well, but I have to join a club first or I can't even get one :(. Handguns will be a 9mm Berretta, 357 revolver and if I can find one at a decent price a desert Eagle .50 but that is pretty expensive......

the eohc is probably the best but there is alot on in Connaught and the RA as well

EOHC I just missed their range course you have to take so I will have to wait till next month when they offer it again.......Connaught is definatly where I will have to go for the long range shooting, just wish I had more friends that are into shooting, no fun going to a place like that alone! lol

don't worry about it you meet alot of great people there and here.

Shooting from Thunder Bay

I've been shooting SASS for 2 years, and drive 300 km to shoot in Thunderbay Bay (summer outdoor shoots only). There are only 2 of us cowpokes in town. Any other single action afficionados.
