Hi, Is it okay for an American to join in on the fun? I have wanted to go hunting up there for a long time. Does someone from the U.S. still have to hire a guide to go hunting there? Do any of you ever hunt down here?
Thank's

Welcome! We have a few Americans on this board already, and the more the merrier! :dancingbanana:

A hunter will be on briefly to answer your questions on hunting! :)

"...have to hire a guide..." For deer, bear and moose, in Ontario, at least, yes. Most other Provinces require non-residents to be guided as well. Some have a 'program' that allows a resident who isn't a professional guide take the guide's place.
Hunting with semi-auto's is allowed as long as it has a 5 round mag. No handgun hunting. No CCW.

Welcome to the site. As for hunting up here, I believe it depends on which province you want to hunt in. EG; here in Manitoba, you need a guide for big game hunting but not for waterfowl.

Hello and welcome. I was born in Canada, but grew up in Ohio. Used to hunt along the Ohio/Penn. border, near Pymatuning. At least, I seem to remember that's how it's spelled. Haven't been there in about fifty years. Enjoy the site.
