Just wanted to say "Hello" to all on this forum. I recently aqquired my PAL after taking CFSC through Silvercore in Delta... the statutory 28 day waiting period is finally over, thought that the day my plastic would arrive would never come. I've never checked the mail with such regularity! This is my first post but I've been lurking around here for a couple of months now.
I've been bit by the bug bad!! I bought 4 guns in 2 days! 1 was from the EE - which I must say is about the best thing since sliced bread. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Happy shooting!

Welcome! I lived in Richmond for a few years, it's great to see you join the board. You should upgrade your Pal to cover restricted as well.

I forgot to mention that I did get my RPAL! How can you not? I was thinking of starting out with a .22 pistol or revolver, but from what I've heard/read most people seem to think a 9mm is a better place to start.

Welcome to CGN. Great bunch of gun fanatics here.

Any .22 LR will allow you to practice more for the obvious reason that ammo is cheap.

9mm is nice for a second handgun, or .38spl/357mag if revolvers appeal to you. Think about reloading if ammo cost is an issue and you think you will stay in this sport long enough to recoup the initial cost.

WELCOME!!!;)

A .22 is the best place to start IMO. You can shoot a LOT for few $, and you can really learn to shoot. A good .22 is also more accurate than your average 9mm.

A next handgun to consider is a Ruger Blackhawk .357/.38/9mm Convertible like the one in my sig line. You can shoot .357 Magnum or .38 Special with one cylinder, and 9mm with the other cylinder.

That would be if you would consider a single-action revolver, of course... Nice thing about those is your valuable brass isn't chucked all over hells half acre!:D
