Hello from Saskatoon

Hello all,

I'm new to shooting/hunting and I just received my PAL in the mail yesterday. I shot my first deer on November 11th last year with a .50 cal Muzzle loader. He sure tastes good, especially coming out of my smoker.

I'd like to get my own gun and a friend of mine told me to come here for adivce and possibly aquiring a used gun. I'm on the fence about buying an inexpensive new gun or trying to find a quality used gun.

Another interest of mine is collecting Coleman lanterns and stoves so that ties in well with hunting. Now I have two reasons to go to gun shows.

Welcome, there are alot of good to very good guns for decent prices. The savage package is a great starter and try to get the accutrigger since you are new. It is pretty light and shorter than most older guns.

So what's wrong with Saskatoon, Harv? Other than being the crime capital of Canada.

I just like poking you poor city dwellers with a pointy stick whenever I get the chance.

Plus I hate driving in there, although now that I've learned that using a turn signal will guarantee my never being able to change lanes it has become somewhat easier. Driving the Mack around helps also, and it'll be better once I can get a V plow mounted on it too.

Usually if someone has a signal light on it was either left on at the factory or they were just curious as to what that switch is for.
