Greetings everyone. I am in Hamilton, Ontario and new to the gun scene. I have just recently obtained my PAL and am in the market for a restricted firearm. Not sure of what it is I want so I have been looking around on different sites which led me to this one. The site looks great and there seems to be a wealth of very friendly knowledgable people here so I may decide to stick around.

Be sure to stop by Al Simmon's....its on Locke Street downtown.

Great people there, fair prices, handle some handguns and go from there.

:welcome:

Welcome aboard.

Fantastic to see that you went all the way with your RPAL....and now you are looking to use it - WAY TO GO!!!!

Screw the antis.

My suggestion for a first restricted would be a 22lr pistol - cheap to feed, not too expensive to buy, lots of parts and accessories available, and easy to learn to shoot. Take a look around here for a good used Ruger MK II.

Thanks for the advice. I tried Al Simmons already as they were reccomended by the gun club "Wentworth shooting club" I am going to join but the store is closed until the 4th or 5th. I was thinking about getting a Norinco as I have heard some good things about them. I do not have a lot to spend at the moment so it is a cheap new one or fair price used one. I shot a 22 lugar at hte club for the safety course and enjoyed it so I may look into one of them as they are cheaper to shoot than a 9mill or a 45.

I have never shot/owned one of the Norinco Woodsman copies, but I own an SKS and M14 by Norinco. There are lots of guys on here who own Norinco 22s, just post a thread and ask them what the view of this pistol is. Heck, I have even seen a few of those used Norinco 22s listed here for sale.

Good luck and you will be able to shoot a pile for a few bucks with the 22.

Have fun Bud.

Thanks for the info but I may have explained myself wrong. I am thinging about getting a luger 22 or aone of the norinco 1911's. THe luger would be much cheaper to shoot but I think I would have much more fun with one of the Norincos.

If you on a limited budget....you probably won't be shooting a .45 that much...The luger 22 is probably a better choice.

Frontier also has TT-33's in stock for like $230.....its cheap and its center fire if that's what your looking for.
