I've recently registered on the website after reading various threads over the past year. I'm north of 60... quite a ways north actually..
Years ago I was in the Nova Scotia Highlanders as an infantryman, and moved to the Air Force. Had enough after 8 years, and am now a Chartered Accountant. I've only recently acquired civie paperwork to shoot (PAL). I figured it was a hassle.. and I was correct... Note to others, don't complete your paperwork during Christmas holidays lol... Looking forward to getting back at a range.
I'm quite interested in older rifles which are as original as possible.
I recently found out the Canadian Tire store sells surplus ammo/rifles in Yellowknife - news to me! It was neat to look through a lot of old SKS's in their back warehouse. I'd like to get my hands on a 1949, just out of pure curiosity than anything. I picked up a 1950 birch stock all matching SN's, black bolt, spring firing pin, 90 degree.. etc etc for $199 which seemed like a decent deal to me. Interesting the Ukrainian issue right now may or may not affect surplus ammo/rifle supplies.
