Hi All,

Just thought I check out a Canadian forum because you guys seem to have a lot of info on the VZ-58, which im interested in. Also trying to understand your gun laws - Un-restricted vs restricted.

welcome .

for vz58 go to the red rifles section.

for restriced and non-restricted go to the legalese section.

basicly the only difference in the restricted and non-restricted VZ58 is the barrel length . non-restricted is over 470mm (18.5") and restricted is under .

btw: i would like to live in LV part time , i like it there . hows the guns law there ?

We have some of the best gun laws in the country. The only thing is that we have to register handguns in Clark County, which is basically the Las Vegas Valley. Other than that, we have CCW, we actually have a Open Carry law on the books but it is frowned upon and other stuff like full-auto and silencers are legal.

that`s like a gunnut`s heaven
we have very restrictive laws
many firearms are prohibited for barrel length , or beingfull autos, converted semi autos, or just by name
32 and 25 cal are also prohib
carrying is not allowed, we need specia permssions to transport restricted class (short barrel, or handgun) to the range and back home

Good luck trying to understand ours , as an example, semi atuo rifles are restricted to 5 round unless you have an m1 Grand, than its ok, and if you have one of those 223 rifle caliber pistols, than you can have a 10 round mag, but that mag fits a ar 15, but is legal, to go in an ar 15 as the RCNP have deemed it legal, go figure

I doubt I'll ever understand your gun laws but you guys can get some stuff we can't, like anything new from China(Norinco). I didn't know they made a AR until the other day.

Welcome to Gun Nutz. I visited your fine city last September. Strangely I came home with less money than when I got there--go figure.

Welcome

The Gun Store is one helluva shop, on Tropicana I believe...

* Dont bother trying to understand our gun laws (as was stated before adnauseum), its not worth the effort.

i should visit vegas too.
its been a while i havnt shot an ak or a saiga or a fal or a full auto m16
i did it last time i trraveled

im going to Vegas next week. Cant wait for the range to try some firearms we dont have up here.

oh, and welcome to the site.

Good to have you here. If you ever fully understand Canada's gun laws, you win the prize.
They're purposely vague and dense, so that LEO's and prosecutors can lay charges, confiscate guns, and ban ownership for a lifetime because a piece of paper is a bit off.

I notice that NV doesn't recognize Utah permits any more.

Am I mistaken or are you guys having a state-level lovers quarrel?

For CCW Nevada pulled the plug on Utah because of different CCW training standards. I think they still recognize our CCW's.

We consider the Gun Store a "tourist guns store" and avoid it because they tend to have higher prices, but they do a lot of adverting and business renting time on machine guns. You may also want to check out Discount Firearms. They also have a range and full-auto's to rent.
