Hello Northern Neighbors!

Howdy and welcome.

I'm 40 minutes west of Danville, WA. When I was a boy back in the sixties on the east coast, our neighbour (I'm typing in Canadianese, lol.) down the street was from Virginia. Her mother, who still lived in Virginia, would come visit regularly. Our neighbour, Mrs. x, once said in her slow Virginia drawl: "I was 16 before I realized "damn yankee" was not a phrase one used in polite conversation." . Or something like that. Although she didn't drink, on garbage day which was once a week, she always put three bottles of beer atop the garbage (under the metal garbage can cover) for the garbage truck driver and the two ground guys. And she was quite the gardener. If my mother had a question or a gardening problem, our Virginian neighbour was the go-to person. I spent a lot of time in her home as her son was a good friend and I'm pretty sure I saw most sides of her. Now that I'm in my late sixties and looking back, I tend to think that she was quite the woman.

Welcome to CGN
