Hello!

There are a couple of the listed sponsor stores that have Garands from time to time. There is enough demand that old receivers get inspected and built up with well chosen old and new production parts. Good luck!

I've had 30-06 Garands before but found that feeding them got more and more expensive than I liked. The operating rod is tuned to 150-grain FMJ, and since they're not making those anymore, it is never a good idea to shoot heavier loads. Yes, there are Garand compatible factory loads, but expect to pay +$2 per shot. For that reason, I encourage anyone who wants to shoot their rifle, to choose one in 7.62mm. The functioning is the same, but NATO specification 147-grain ammunition is significantly easier to find and cheaper to shoot. There is a slight change on the sight increments as you get past 400-yards but unless you are especially good, you'll never notice the difference.
