Hellooo! New to site

Just happened across this site and thought it looked like a spot for usefull information and interests. I have been shooting and hunting most my life, a year ago bought a milling machine and new lathe and like to tinker with my rifles and attempt home gunsmithing on my own toys. I've discovered the new machines are only as usefull as I am and I have a lot to learn about machining set up and processes before I can effectively produce a decent shooting rifle, lol. I did however mod up an old cooey mod 39 , by making a 1" thick new action of 4140, used the original bolt and threaded the action and bolt together. The rifle shoots very well but I hate the extracion as chanber is tight. I mostly am interested in rifles, target and hunting, haven't ventured into pistols yet. So hello everyone!
