I just bought a 9.3x57 from Tradex equiped with a Hellquist peepsite-supposedly similar to Norma-but I cannot find anything on it-googling NORMA or Hellquist ''peepsite'' brings up a lot of websites-none of which has anything to do with rifles.....

Check your spelling. Try peep 'sight' in your search;)

thanks-I did and it a swedish Helqvist peep sight-appearently quite rare over here.Still couldn't find much on them though.I just want it for a hunting sight-I have a peep sight on a savage 219 and I switched the front sight for a tru-glo sight-and the combination of the peep sight and the tru glo front sight seems to come on target pretty quickly. The area I hunt moose is 50 to 100 yard shots, and the 9.3x57 should be ideal

Rare as rocking-horse poo. Also the "Jagtdiopter":

which is even nicer!

I picked up a similar rifle recently (private sale) and have been spending a lot of time on the Swedish Civilian arms forum (http://forums.gunboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=50) Lots of good info there as well.

thanks for posting that picture-I haven't actually recieved the rifle and only seen a side view-so thats the first look I've actually seen of the Hellqvist peep sight. It looks to be exactly what I'm wanting-a robust hunting sight.Once it's sighted in for 100yards,I doubt I'd touch it.''Minute of moose'' is all I'm interested in

Actually, the one I posted was the Husqvarna Jaktdiopter.

This is a Hellqvist:

so-do you adjust the elevation by screwing or unscrewing the aperture?Looks like windage is tapping the dovetail over in the notch, much as a front sight is adjusted.Again-looks like an ideal hunting sight, simple ,well secured and robust

Alas, I have reached the end of my knowledge base. (ie I don't know!) You'll have to wait in wrapt anticipation or ask Pettson or Kriggevaer on the Swede forum, or perhaps another CGN'ner has a Husky with one, as mine has the regular fixed sights, presumably regulated for 286 gr. I plan to replace my front sight with a NEGC elevation-adjustable ramp and patridge front sight (and modify the rear sight notch to square.)
