HELP! AR buld assistance!

So, basically, I want my old C-7 (or close to it) back from when I was in the CF. I seriously have an eye on an enhanced NEA-15, but with an expected delivery date of late winter/early spring, I figure I might want to just go ahead and piece together my own, fully custom one over the winter.

Only problem is I wouldn't have the foggiest idea of where to start...

I know I would need an upper and lower, and that is about it. I hear about a parts kit, and I am sure I would require specialized tools as well.

Any help that you gurus-of-the-black-rifles could share with me would be awesome!

And NEA, just cause I am toying with the idea of building my own, doesnt mean I dont want one of yours badly! But Early spring is a long way to go!

Were you with the CF for the original C7 or during the "flat-top" era???

20" Gov't profile barrel and round A2-style handguards shouldn't be much of a problem at all...

If you want an a2 style throw on a four-position collapsible butt and buy an elcan.

I just recently built one similar to the C7 Just a rundown of what i did.
- Armalite stripped Lower from wolverine 169.99
- DPMS parts kit Brownells $80.00
- A2 stock kit brownells roughly $80
- Complete Stag Upper off the EE for $600 used

If you prefer brand name wolverine carries all the parts to complete and armalite build which is very similar to the colt stuff as far as quality and finish but you will also pay a bit more. As far as actually building it Youtube has great videos as well as brownells and all you really would need is a punch set, Barrel wrench and some lube. As far as price you should be able to complete your build for $1200 or lower.
