I was reloading some shells and was checking to see if they would chamber properly and all was good.... then I dropped the bolt on the floor and now it will not slide in all the way.

I have a browning x-bolt, 22-250, and it seems the safety tange on the bolt slipped down, closer to lever on the bolt, and cant seem to get it to back.

Any suggestions or did I royally screw something.:bangHead:

here is a pic ... I believe it needs to slide up .. hopes this helps explain my problem

sorry .. not the best with the lingo for firearms.

Yup, the bolt is not cocked.
Hold the bolt sleeve firmly, and twist it clockwise, causing the cocking piece to be cammed back until it engages the small notch.
If you can't twist it with your hands, grab the cocking piece in a padded vise, and pull it back, compressing the spring while rotating to cocked.

whew .. thanks .. greatly appreciated ... just wasnt using enough elbow grease. I owe you for this one. Was wanting to take the wife out shooting in the morning and thought I toasted those plans.

I think you should toast the wife in the a.m., then wander away for a bit and
then come in and tell her you fixed it.
Then go shooting.................................. ;)
Well, it was a thought............ .02 :p
