Hi guys,

I'm looking for some advice for the optics to put on a tactical .338. I'd like 6x24 or 8x32.

Currently looking at:

NF: Pricey and at the higher end of what I'd like to pay. very durable, repeatable settings and great reticle choice.

Sighton: seems like great value but do they make tactical turrets for it instead of target ones? Limited reticle options.

Vortex: Might be interesting but I know little of them quality and durability wise since i think they are rather new to rifle optics.

Thanks for the advice

I am one of the trillion people that has a Nightforce 8-32x56 NSX on my 338. Love it. I have Leupold and Bushnell Elite 4200/6500 scopes on other rigs but really, NF is my personal preference for my most commonly used guns (or guns that require extremely good optics). They are as good or better in almost every way to the Leupolds and Elites. Price is the biggest, and in some cases the only, downside. Beyond Nightforce, you have stuff like S&B or Premiere but price will be higher still. F Class shooters love NF, lots of 338 shooters use NF, they are the real deal.

EDIT: Try searching the Optics forum or Precision Rifles forum as this topic has been debated/#####ed about many a time.
