Hi everyone, I need help identifying what exactly the grooves in the receiver of my father's Cooey are. He's in need of an optic upgrade and I need to be able to mount a 1" tube scope. I've uploaded a picture so you can see what the receiver looks like.

You can find pretty inexpensive 11mm dovetail to Weaver or Picatinny adapters from various retailers or Amazon. Yes, they are all made in an unnamed east Asian country, but the big plus is that they clamp on very firmly with models with 3-4 screws, and then you can use regular centerfire rings. It gets the scope just a hair higher, but I find these to be a great alternative to poor quality aluminum rimfire rings (except the steel ones). You can use the same scope and rings with your centerfires! This one below is an example, but better and less expensive ones are available on Amazon.

Thanks for this. I picked up two different sets of rings from the only local place and neither fit correctly. The top of the "dovetail" is curved, and neither set gives enough clearance for that so they end up sitting cockeyed. Your suggestion seems like the simplest solution to this problem that only I seem to be having

As it turns out, regular old 3/8 rings do not fit this rifle. Local guy gave me some adapters so that regular rifle rings could be mounted on top and we're now good to go. Thanks for the suggestions everyone
