Can anyone please point me in the direction of someone who makes leather buttstock shell holders for Lever Action rifles?
Specifically a model 1892 Winchester 357 (10 shot)

Thanks in advance.

I bought several for my rifles and shotguns from Mernickle a few years ago. I think they were around 35-40 each. Check his website, I suspect they are on there some where.

x2 for Mernickle, I used to have a problem with the butt plate sliding when shouldering the gun because of the fabric the clothes were made of. Mernickle buttstock covers do not hold ammunition, not allowed under SASS rules.

These butt cuffs are great for providing some protection to the finish, for looks, and for providing more grip to your body when you shoulder the long gun, and the loops are handy if you're using the rifle for non-cowboy action stuff (hunting, plinking, etc.).

However, you must keep in mind that if you store ammunition in cartridge loops mounted on the firearm's stock or forearm, you may not use it during the match to load from. All ammunition required for loading/reloading during the course of any stage must be carried on the shooter's person or be safely staged as required by stage instructions.

Have a read through the CAS rules posted on the Single Action Shooting website.
It lists all the categories and requirements for each, as well as rule changes that occur annually.

You can also check out Working Cowboy gun leather. Chatham, Ontario leather maker. Should be able to custom-make whatever you like. Also: Taylor's & Company. The full-coverage, lace-on butt covers are good quality and durable. Model '92 listed among choices. Worth a look. As mentioned, Mernickle make a good choice, too. Available factory direct. Or, through Long Hunter Supply. (U.S.)
