Having difficulty cutting/trimming 300 BLK to size.
I currently use a dremel to cut off 8-9mm then tried using a Lee easy trim to get it to size but it takes way too long, is inaccurate and I've already worn out the blades by applying to much pressure.

On US forums people are using a harbor freight cut off saw to get brass to size and using a normal trimmer, but I can't find a harbor freight in Canada.

What do you guys use ? Should I try using dremel and cut
down 8-9 mm and remove the last 1mm
by using a power drill attachment trimmer?

Holy cripes! I can't imagine trying to cut more than a few (as in two) cases with a Dremel.

I have a mini-chop saw I bought off Golfsmith when they had a Mississauga location. Harbor Freight is a US chain. Check their website for store locations near a border by you. There is one in Buffalo when you're in Toronto. You can order it directly from Harbor Freight over the phone (website doesn't allow Canadian addresses).

Princess Auto carries a 6" mini-chop saw for $99.

There are a couple jigs out there that you can use to speed up the cutting process. The best one I've seen ejects the cut shells when a new one it pushed in from the side of the jig. I'm cheap so I just use a block of wood and a clamp to act as a stopper/gauge.

Is a file type trim die available? Run the case in to form and size it, slice off with a hacksaw, file, then chamfer.

I actually don't mind the dremel part, it's just the next 1mm.
I will look into the 6" chop saw, I am unable to travel to US.
What do you guys use for trimming down to exact size ?

I have 2 setups for cutting 223 brass. I only use 2 now as its quicker and cleaner. The mini chop saw was $70 shipped from ebay seller in USA

1. Purchased from 300blktalk site.

2. search for 22 TCM and 300 Blackout Case Cutting, Cut Off and Trimmer Jig for Chop Saw on ebay.

I use a Lyman Universal Case trimmer with drill attachment to finish up. I'm thinking of picking up a WFT trimmer soon.

Here's the jig I mentioned in my earlier post. It's $39. USD shipped within the US. Not sure how much additional it is to ship to Canada.

I use a Hornady Lock N Load trimmer with my drill attached. Only takes a few seconds, but it sure does send brass flying everywhere. Then I have a Hornady case prep assistant thing that I use to make the edges pretty.

But, I bought 2000 brass, so I'm good for a while now.

Trinimon, get the 300 blk WFT its worth it.

I have 400 brass i made, at first i was going to make 1000's but the 400 i have are on their 4th reloading (mostly 230gr subs)

The 22 TCM 300 BLK is just a jig, where would I get the cut off saw ?

Edit : I see some on EBay, trying to figure out costs, getting frustrated !
Wish I could just buy one from Canada.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, call Harbor freight and order over the phone. They ship to Canada.

Just the Cut-off Saw:
eBay items: 361128903969 and 121395124234
These are both identical to the Harbor Freight model.

Saw AND .300 BLK jig:
eBay item: 141357571908

I have the saw and jig setup and have made more than 1,000 cases without any problems.

Not familiar with the cartridge, just wondering how much trimming required. I have a few RCBS trim dies with hardened surface a file can't scratch and use a file or hack saw for the first trim. It sounds a lot slower than it is. Drill a 7/8" hole in an aluminum pie plate to keep brass shards contained. The trim dies are a part of case-forming die sets, but can be purchased separately.

I reform the brass to 300 Blk and then put 10 rds at a time into stripper clips. I then cut the whole lot in a Canadian Tire ceramic tile saw. Final trimming is done with a drill powered trimmer. I have done thousands of rds this way.

Smart idea! It is very tedious cutting one case at a time in that little jig. On the plus side, you only have to do it once...
