Just started production from standard, got a Shadow , had all the work done, parts changed. (legally). Had my first match this weekend and my mags don't fall free. I noticed that when the slide strips a bullet and chambers it, the following bullet moves forward in the mag enough to touch the frame. anybody else have that problem ? I use Zero 125g HPc at 1.140, tried to shorten them to 1.100 but same things keeps happening. Is it the Mag, the bullet type, length ?

I think I've heard of this before - I'm sure a CZ expert will check in soon

But in the meantime, I think you need to polish the inside of the slide where it runs over the rounds in the mag so it stops pulling the other bullet forward.

Check to see if the front of the feedlips are flared out too much and not putting any tension on the round.

I wouldn't trim springs, that could make the problem worse. Check the feed lips for proper spacing, and as Sean noted check the underside of the slide that feeds the rounds, make sure there isn't a burr there as that can cause exactly what you are experiencing.

try to check the mag brake
it's the little sheet metal inside the frame held in place by 2 pins

it may be bended
just take the 2 pins out and give the sheet metal a light hammering

Polish the underside of the slide and slightly radius the front edge as it is sharp and champhered from the factory. Do not cut any coils off the mag springs or they will be scrap. There is nothing wrong with cz mags. If you reload be sure to remove all the flare in the case.

the mag brake in a Shadow doesn't impede the mag. It's there to stop you from shoving the mag into the mainspring area of the gun. Removing it will make no difference, unless it was installed wrong. Which I've seen. So it is worth a look at that to make sure it's flat and not bent out like in a regular 75.

First thing I would do is make sure that you're not pushing the mag release button too hard and fast. If you do, you can actually retain the mag instead of dropping it free. This probably isn't your problem but it's the free and easiest thing to check first.
