Hi Everyone,

I have been trying to decide on a scope or red dot and narrowed it down to either an aimpoint pro or XPS2. I thought I had made a decision but the warranty of the Eotech kinda swayed me to the aimpont. I then read that the aimpoint with standard mount does not do true cowitness. Can someone please confirm the below?? Also if you have any input into which one is better that might be helpful!

Options
1-Aimpoint Pro
2-Eotech XPS 2
3-Vortex PST 1-4

Questions
1- Is the aimpoint pro true cowitness or lower 1/3 out of the box??
2- Is the Eotech xps true cowitness or lower 1/3 out of the box??
3- Is it true Eotech only has a 2 year warranty? Does this cover accidentals?
4- Is it true Aimpoint has a 10 year warranty? Does this cover accidentals?

Lastly who has the best prices on any of these right now??

Thanks T

Eotech has excellent warranty, so don't let that discourage you. I bought mine in 2008. I had a problem this year. They repaired it and service was fast, excellent, no hassle. All I paid for was shipping.

I have an Aimpoint and Eotech. I like both.

I had the same dilemma. Ended ip with a 1-4 and i'm glad i went that route. 1x has pretty good transition and it's easy to shoot with both eyes open.

Thanks for the replies. In regards to the eotechs which did you get and are they cowitness? As for the 1-4 which one did you end up getting?

Thanks T

Bushnell. It's good, not perfect. I'm going to try it for 3-gun. I just don't see spending more for a minor increment in clarity.

I have both. I prefer the target acquisition speed of the Eotech better. The Aimpoint is lighter and has better battery life. I put the Aimpoint on the XCR-L because of the weight issue but much prefer using the Eotech as a sight

I personally prefer the Eotech, I find it to be a faster optic, and have not yet had any problems with the five I have on various firearms, but I do have a few Aimpoint micros as well on guns where weight and bulk are an issue.

The Aimpoint has better battery life, and supposedly is more durable as well, but with how I use my guns it has not been a problem, I use them in all conditions, but don't drop them, submerge them, etc.

Both are great optics, so you can't go very wrong, but if you can, try to look at both in real life, and if possible shoot with them on a gun.

Worst case? Buy one and you dont like it? Sell it off for what you paid minus a few bucks and grab the other one.

Thanks Everyone. I ended up getting two Primary Arms Micro Dot's a few weeks ago will mount it on the Socom and see how it works out. I will then go from there since I have them might as well try one. I was close to pulling the trigger on the Eotech XPS2-0 for $408 -60MIR from optics planet but decided to hold off.

Thanks T

I liked the eotech 512 until I saw the EXPS3-4 with the ranging reticle. Now I want that.

Oh, and ditto on the eotech warranty, they took care of it pretty quick. Sent it off to the states and it made it back within a month or two - repaired. I paid shipping. You just have to make sure you write the code they give you on the package so it doesn't get delayed or screwed at customs.
