I just bought a used Excalibur Exomag and went to replace the old string with a new one that I bought at an archery store and that the fella working there said is for Exomag (Excel string for magtip limbs #1994) and the new string is about 1" shorter then the old one:eek:

Do I have the wrong string for this bow?? I told the fella a few times at the store that it is an older Exomag NOT Exomax and he insisted it was the right string.

Is the old string maybe just stretched? Help please.

strings can stretch over time. you gotta make sure you arent using a fff string with old carved tip excaliburs.

is the string between the "hash marks" on the rail?

excalibur has excellent customer service just give them a call and they'll help you out. be sure to join the excalibur forum too...

OK so I just got off the phone with excalibur customer service, which is fabulous. The string I have (1994) is one of the correct options for this bow. The reason why it is 35" long and not the correct length of 36" is because the crossbows come prestringed now and so they know it will stretch sitting in inventory. He said it will stretch to its correct length of 36" and that 1) it won't hurt the bow at all 2) it won't have any effect on arrow performance.

Good enough for me :)
