I have a m-14 supermatch and it packed up the chicken today. just had all the wear parts on my trigger replaced as the trigger pin was cracked and causing the odd sticky trigger. Waited a month for parts from springfield and get to the range and after 10 rounds and my extractor blew up.
Is this a common issue with these bolts? The extractor sheared off at the hinge pin and all the bolt parts fell out. I'm wondering if this bolt needs a gunsmith or can a guy that can fix most gun problems fix this? Or do I have to send the bolt to springfeild?
I'm shooting 45gr of 4320 and 155 PM's through the gun, hardly a hot load and I've shot probably 800 rounds through this gun (this mix too) and the gun was previously owned. Could the action possibly be getting too much gas which is hammering the action too hard on cycle causing these parts failures or is it just the sign of a worn gun?
Any direction would be appreciated....
