As the title states, I’m looking for a heritage rough rider single action revolver (not the 16” barrel model) These little plinker have to be hands down one of the funniest and almost essential pistols for range days and you can let new shooters shoot their heart out without costing a arm and a leg.

I already have the heritage rough rider carbine so it would be awesome to find a pistol before the freeze and give dual purpose to the 22wmr cylinder.

Thanks in advance for any and all leads

Found again if anyone else is looking, prophet River has them in stock. 22lr in 4.75” and 9” and they also have the 22lr/22wmr combo all at very reasonable prices considering our current situation.

If and when you get it I would suggest you take each screw out of the ejector and back strap and replace after putting a drop of blue loctite. First day i took mine out I lost the ejector rod screw and it took weeks to get an OEM replacement. I currently have both the Heritage and the Chiappa 1873 and enjoy both equally.

When i bought my first cowboy style revolver (Chiappa because it was dirt cheap) I was watching all the youtubes with comparisons of it, the Heritage Rough Rider and the Ruger Wrangler, and everyone seems to favour the Heritage so I ordered one of those too. Now I have an order in for the Ruger so will have all 3 eventually (finger crossed). As you say they are great guns for fun at the range and pretty safe tool for teaching people about handguns.

Thanks for the heads up about the screws, I will definitely give it a little loctite when it shows up. I also have a Chiappa and have so much fun with it I figured variety is the spice of life so why not have choices. I’m guessing we watched the same reviews as that was my basic understanding of the heritage, Chiappa and wrangler.

I ended up buying a second Chiappa from frontier firearms when the first announcement was made because everything was disappearing so fast, you can get a 22wmr cylinder for it and the wife loves SAA. Now I’m battling with myself whether I buy the Ruger as well.

If you’re looking for a wrangler, Prophet River also has some stock of those. They’re supposed to be the best fit and finish out of the 3 but the cylinder not being timed for ejection, no half #### to load are just such a abominations of the 1873 action. The ejection rod is far more robust on the Ruger than the other 2 and the sights are supposed to be superior in every way but I don’t believe there is a 22wmr cylinder option for the Ruger.

Not sure if I’m trying to convince you or myself lol

Cheers, thanks for the info

Yes I have the Black wrangler on order from Prophet. Looked just now and seems there are none left there.
