Seems accurate according to the Hodgdon website, I checked my Lyman reloading book, it didn't have any date listed for HP-38, but I think it might also be referred to as something else, just can't remember.

i load 9mm as well and the OAL sounds good i load a bit longer but i dont kno how long your gun will chamber.... what load data did you use for the powder charge?:)

Load the longest your magazines and gun will function with reliably.

I used to follow this idea, but as I began using more of the truncated cone bullets, I realized that in many cases, they need a little room to build up speed to hit that ramp.

I load the 125 and 147gr Frontiers to 1.125.

So in other words, you had to make them shorter to function reliably.......;)

9mm loads

when i first started loading i would take the barrel out of my pistol drop in a factory round to see how it seated in the chamber then would do the same for my reloads ,drop in the round apply thumb pressure then tilt down if the round falls out its good if it sticks you might not have enough crimp or OAL is to short or to much crimp causeing it to go deeper into the chamber in which case you will see it because it willlook diferent from the factory round or you can buy a cartridge case gauge to check your loaded ammo a good idea if shooting competitions. Oh and buy or down load loadind data theres lots of loads for the 9mm.
cheers tornado

Seems correct I use the same no problems in my 92FS :D

I've used HP-38 for the last few years. It's from higginsonpowders in ontario. Use the Winchester 231 load data for HP-38 because that's what it actually is but repackaged and given a different name. I've used 4.3 grains of HP-38 in my pistols with 124 bullets and had good results.
