I picked this up today. I'll be darned if I can find a model on it and was looking for some help with an ID. The only thing I did find was on the Anschutz website, based on details on the site this unit was manufactured before 1958 (no stag antlers or code see pic). Does this seem possible with the dovetails? Anyways it shoots darn well but I am a bit of an info junkie.

Anschutz 64

What you have there is an Anschutz model 64 Sporter, check the around the chamber area on the barrel for the date, it will be the last two numbers only. Does it have a CIL banner over the front ring of the action, under the front scope ring? If not you have a original , CIL (Canadian Industries Limited) besides selling ammo ie; "Imperial, "Canuck", Whiz-Bang" etc, also sold firearms in the late 60's through the 70's. They imported some Anschutz under the CIL banner, same quality, just that the non CIL marked firearms seem to hold greater value today. They also have a fully adjustable trigger and are known to shoot extremely well, you won't be disappointed.

I cannot locate a date stamp anywhere, which confuses me. Under the scope ring is the Anschutz logo. The only other stamp that I can't identify is under the barrel right next to the receiver, it shows a very small 2 and what looks like a strange Y. I will say the trigger is a thing of beauty with 3 adjustments on it and it does shoot well.

Thanks for the help

klrklr,

I got it to hunt and do target practice with. I am thinking of trying sillouette but I don't know if this would be a good rig. Another thing I would like to know is how to adjust the trigger.

For price I paided a little over 200 for it.
