Help! I can't get floor plates off my Glock 17 mags!

I have a mag coupler for my Glock 17 mags but no matter how much I try I can't get the floor plates off. Is there something with the Canadian mags that make it so you can't remove the floor plates? I can't push the button on the bottom in very far but in videos that I watched they use the Glock armor's tool and push those little buttons in about 2 inches and then bend the tool to pop the plate off. I'm chewing up the hole in the bottom of the Glock mags trying to get this thing off and I'm wondering if I should just take pliers and rip it off or something

I'm squeezing both sides also but that plate is not moving. What should I do?

Never mind. I used vice grips and a hammer and managed to pull it off.

I find a table edge works best for tight base plates.

Stick a punch or similar items in hole. Start to push down edge of plate on edge of desk/table. It'll be really tight but will slowly slide off.

Push an Allen key through the hole at a 45 degree angle with the angle towards the back then push the Allen key towards the front. The base plate will push off. Easy as pie. Takes 2 seconds.
