I'm on a bayonet kick today!

This bayonet came on a Turk'd 1888 Commision rifle. Blade is 15 3/4", overall 20 3/4". I can't seem to pin it down. It is likely German or Austrian made, but no maker's marks exist. It does have a Crown with a "W" inside on the wood grip, both sides. It also has a quarter moon with another small mark in the concave of the moon, both sides.

It appears to be the same as the one I found on the 'net.

Thanks in advance for any and all help. :)

Looks like a Spanish M1913 although they typically have very coarse checkering on the grips. Can you post closeups of the markings?

Well, it seems that it was a Spanish bayonet, as I did find a pic on Liberty Tree's site of an M1903 without the #####-cross grips, and there is a Spanish shotgun prrof mark that is a crescent moon looking affair with a star in the concave. There is also another Spanish proof that is a crown with a "W" below, somewhat similar.

Plus, where the serial number would have been on the cross-guard on a Spanish issue, the metal is less proud of the grip, indicating that perhaps the old number was ground off. It doesn't have the same contour as the opposite side either.

My bayonet was (probably force) matched to the rifle serial number, but the scabbard was not.

Bayonet shown below is a short version.
