Help ID This Sling

I have a Leather sling that I need help identifing. Anybody out there know what it was used for?
It is 44 1/2 " long. 1 1/4" wide.
It does not appear to have been cut as the border is stamped around the ends.
Marked " S.TEES & Co. Ltd. "
TORONTO 1914
It is also stamped with C broad arrow.

I have several of those. They came in string wrapped bundles of 5. They are stamped "P.I. 1940" with 1/8in letters and a larger stamped broad arrow over 100 with 3/8in numbers.

They did make this type of sling in the early part of WWII, They have rivits instead of stitching.
