Hi all,
I have an unusual 20ga Auto 5 that I happened by, I was hoping to pick the brain of one of you learned fellas. I am an Auto 5 guy, I shoot them well and hunt them exclusively, I only mention this as an indicator that I am not a complete dummy. Unfortunately I don't have any books on the matter. In a nut shell, I am interested to know if I have just a standard European Light 20 or an early version of a super lightweight. I haven't been able to find any pics of what I have on the internet.
Sorry, I don't know how to post pics. What makes it different are:
1. Serial number 1ZFN 33905;
2. No scroll work receiver engraving, left side Browning over FN in a circle,receiver in steel;
3. Black anodized aluminum Trigger group with gold Trigger;
4. French FN Barrel legend acier special - C20 - cart 2 3/4";
5. There's a cavity behind the butt plate just over 4" deep which appears to have been done at the factory;
6. It has a 26 1/4" vent rib full Barrel; and
7. Butt, Barrel, Trigger group are serialized to the receiver.
It's not for sale, I'm only interested in knowing what I have. I think it's just a 1961 European Light 20, let me know if you think differently.
Thanks for looking. Bill
