Trying To figure out the history on a no1mk3 Enfield, 1918 manufacture. Has a strange brass identity plate on the buttstock I've never seen before, any .303 experts out there know what it is/means?

Thanks

Rob

Its a post WW2 Indonesian Dutch Colonial Unit identity plate. I have seen them on Dutch issue No. 1 MKIII and P-14 rifles, used before Indonesia became independant.

Very interesting. Seems even Joe Salter is stumped.

I found the Joe Salter P14 pictures too, looks the same. Date on receiver is 1918 though, maybe a refurb? Thanks guys, never seen a data plate like that before.
