First off, this is a .22 shotgun - smoothbore, bead sight. The action is marked Remington Targetmaster Mod. 510. When I Google the Mod. 510 Targetmaster, it says it's a bolt .22. Now unless past sins have really caught up with my, this does not fit my recollection of a bolt gun. Also, the buttplate is a Stevens Favorite buttplate. The gun is in pretty good shape, and has no sign of bluing at all.

Any help identifying and pinning a value on this would be greatly appreciated.

Is it the receiver that's marked, or the barrel? Looks like a Stevens favourite receiver to me, possibly mated to a Remington barrel.

You're right, it's the barrel. Looks like they drilled out and installed a Rem barrel. Anyway, it's a very neat little shotgun. I shot a lot of spruce hens with it. ANy idea what it would be worth?

I n'er understood how they could call a smoothbore .22 a "targetmaster". The 51x rifles are very accurate gems.

Worth? Not guessin'!

I have no idea how this gun came to be. Whoever did it did an excellent job though. It weighs about 3 lbs. and does the trick on spruce hens.

Yes, it is a "Franken gun" because indeed the 510 smooth bore target master is a single shot bolt action . I had one. Although your gun looks nice, personally I would think that it does not hold much value because of being a made up gun.
